Trusscore Wall&CeilingBoard panels should never have epoxy applied directly to them. Differences in expansion and contraction between epoxy and Trusscore can compromise both materials and reduce the longevity of your installation.
Depending on your project requirements and aesthetic preference, there are two recommended installation sequences for combining epoxy floors with Trusscore panels.
Install epoxy flooring per the manufacturer’s instructions.
Once cured, install Trusscore Wall&CeilingBoard flush to the top of the epoxy floor using our standard installation guidelines.
For added water resistance:
Install Base Trim and J Trim, leaving a 1/4" gap between the trim and the epoxy floor.
After panel installation, insert a backer rod into the gap, just past the front edge of the J Trim.
Apply silicone over the backer rod to seal the gap.
Install Trusscore Wall&CeilingBoard panels and trims per our standard installation instructions.
Leave a 3–4" gap above the intended finished floor.
Fill the gap with a low-expansion material such as 3/8" plywood or OSB to form the wall base.
Install epoxy flooring per manufacturer instructions:
Roll epoxy up the wall base to create a flush surface with the Trusscore panels.
Optional: Install a Trusscore Base Trim at the bottom of the wall to act as a drip edge.
Trim and seal details:
Install Base Trim first, then J Trim on top.
Run a small bead of silicone along the gap between trims.
Alternatively, omit J Trim and run silicone directly along the bottom of the panels.
Ensure epoxy is packed tightly under the drip edge or base trim.
