Trusscore Wall&CeilingBoard and Trusscore SlatWall can be installed with any readily available corrosion-resistant #8/#10 gauge screws with a flat-bottomed, low profile head (i.e., truss head, pancake head, round or washer head, cabinet, and other low profile screws) and a minimum head diameter of 3/8”.
We recommend different screw types for different wall assemblies:
Wall Assembly | Screw Recommendation | Screw Length |
Wood Stud | #8 or #10 gauge screw with a low profile head | 1 ¼" |
Drywall | #8 or #10 gauge screw with a low profile head | 1 ¾" to 2" |
Furring Strips or Strapping | #8 or #10 gauge screw with a low profile head | 2 ½" |
Plaster | #8 or #10 gauge screw with a low profile head | 2" to 2 ½" |
Concrete | 3/16” Flathead screw (TapCon) | 1 ¼" |
Metal or Steel Studs | Self-tapping #8 or #10 low profile head as above | 1 ¼" |

Proper fastening ensures Trusscore panels remain secure while allowing for expansion and contraction. Follow these key guidelines:
Do not over-tighten screws.
Leave at least 1/16" (about a dime thickness) between the screw head and the screw flange.
Panels must slide freely after fastening to allow for expansion and contraction.
Always fasten in the center of screw flange slots; fastening at the ends can cause panels to buckle or distort.
Install screws straight and level for proper movement.
Screws should penetrate at least 1" into solid backing.
When installing Wall&CeilingBoard vertically, use one screw for every 2’ of panel or trim.
When installing Wall&CeilingBoard horizontally, use one screw per stud (usually 16" or 24" on center).
When installing SlatWall, use one screw every 16" to support up to 75 lbs per sq. ft.
If your screw locations do not hit solid backing and you cannot add furring strips or strapping—such as when installing over drywall—you may use drywall anchors.
We recommend using the #6 Wall Arrow
by Attaches Reliable Fasteners (part number 059-999-KB).
Use screws wherever possible. Drywall anchors should be used only when absolutely necessary, such as one or two anchors per panel.
The drywall anchor replaces the screw at that location and becomes the fastener.
How to Install a Drywall Anchor:
Tap the drywall anchor through the screw flange with a hammer, leaving the required 1/16" gap between the anchor head and screw flange.
Insert the included screw into the anchor and fasten it until it sits flush with the anchor head.
